  • 1 kg Chicken (various cuts)
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Honey (optional) for sweetness
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice for acidity
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Herbs (e.g., rosemary, thyme)
  • 1 tsp Spices (e.g., smoked paprika, cayenne pepper)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Zip-top Bags or Shallow Dish
  • Grill or Frying Pan

Method

  1. Pat the chicken dry to help the marinade stick better.
  2. In a bowl, combine mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, honey, and lemon juice.
  3. Whisk the marinade until smooth and well mixed.
  4. Rub the marinade over the chicken, massaging it in thoroughly for even distribution.
  5. Place the chicken in a zip-top bag or shallow dish, ensuring it's well coated.
  6. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, up to overnight for best results.
  7. Preheat the grill or pan on medium heat.
  8. Cook the chicken until it's no longer pink in the center and golden brown on the outside.
  9. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the mustard type to your taste; Dijon adds a classic flavor, while spicy mustard brings a kick. For a sweeter marinade, add more honey or brown sugar to balance the tanginess. Don't skip the resting period after marinating; this ensures even cooking. Enjoy with side dishes like roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
